The Illamasqua Ultimate Skin Trinity is a a great introduction to the award winning Skin Base Foundation Range and you can snap up these three little gems for £50.00 at Illamasqua.
It comprises of:
It’s a great buy if you are curious about the Illamasqua range as individually they would cumulatively cost £70. I went to the Flagship store in London and was served by the very helpful Mark who made my shopping experience so much fun and exciting.
Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation
This is one of my favourite foundations of all time. It gives a medium to full buildable coverage but also looks natural on the skin and is not cakey at all. Perfect if you need more coverage especially covering any red pigmentation on the cheeks as this cancels it out effectively. Amazing shade selection and I like to wear this when I am going out for the evening and want to achieve a flawless base. I’d say its good for Combination, Normal and Dry skin. I wear SB09.
Illamasqua Skin Base Lift
OK, so HOW pretty is the packaging? There should be diamonds in this not a concealer. I digress…..This may have kicked my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to the curb! It provides full brightening coverage for my under eye dark circles as it has colour correcting peach tones. I love it because even though it provides opaque coverage it is not cakey at all. I like to apply this with my fingers as I find brushes tend to leave too much debris in the pan which isn’t hygienic! I wear Medium 1.
Illamasqua Hydra Veil
This contains sodium hyaluronate which is a moisture boosting ingredient. The hydra veil can be used instead of a moisturiser and has a gel consistency. It rubs on to the face easily leaving it tacky so that the foundation glides on. I’ve heard that it’s good for both dry and oily skin and I like it on me. The dinky spatula also means that it is hygenic -horray!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I have a love hate relationship with under eye concealers. I love them because they correct the appearance of dark circles concealing any signs of tiredness and lack of sleep. But I also hate them because they can settle in creases and emphasise the appearance of fine lines. It’s essentially a choice between the lesser of two evils- dark circles or fine lines? Personally, dark circles are a NO NO especially when I want to achieve a flawless make-up base.
My favourite under eye and blemish concealer is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I love it because it’s full coverage and completely covers my dark circles making me look fresh and rested. It doesn’t smudge my mascara, it’s long lasting and has a nice creamy consistency. It claims to provide 16 hours of coverage -( I can’t confirm this as I’ve only ever worn make-up for a maximum of 12 hours). It’s also very versatile as it not only conceals dark circles, but also blemishes and red pigmentation. It’s cheap as chips and is extremely economical as a little goes a long way. I just love this concealer.
I apply a small amount under my eyes using the doe foot applicator, I gently buff it in to the skin using a small flat foundation brush and then tap lightly with my fingers to seal the edges. Remember to set with a loose or pressed powder to add extra staying power and minimise creasing.
If you prefer not to wear a full face of foundation but want something to cover problem areas this may be the answer as it provides full coverage.
The only drawback is that there are only 4 shades in the range Light, Fair, Medium and Deep so do test before you buy.
Affordable and effective
I think the consistency and effect of this concealer matches if not exceeds the performance of other higher end competitors. You can purchase 6 Collection concealers for the price of 1 YSL Touché Eclat. Absolute bargain!
Available to purchase for £4.19 from retailers including Superdrug and Boots.
