I’m going to fess up and admit that it’s taken me a while to use Illamasqua’s Cream Blush in Seduce because quite frankly I found the colour quite strong and scary. It’s described as a warm rosy pink -I’d also add that it’s a dark raspberry shade with a creamy consistency. Illamasqua is known for colour intensity -a little goes a long way so I applied a little to the apples of my cheeks using a stippling brush. Surprisingly, I actually ended up adding another layer and even dabbed some on to my lips. You can wear this blush 2 ways – sheer or opaque and there is definitely an art to applying it – build the colour up one layer at a time. It’s really easy to blend and leaves the cheeks with a rosy dewy finish- not oily or shiny. It just melts in to the skin.
I’ll definitely reach for this more come winter time when my skin feels dull and is drier because it really livens up my complexion and will be a good alternative to a powder blush if I’m suffering from any dry winter patches. The blush wore off after 4 hours on my normal to dry skin, so not the greatest staying power but I like the dewy finish enough to top up during the day.
I eagerly approached my local MAC counter today and the very first thing that caught my eye was the super gorgeous Stereo Rose blush. The MUA swiped a little over my cheek bone and it gave me beautiful flush of colour and glow. It makes me look so healthy and I was sold instantly. I hope you can see why in the photos below.
It is a warm-toned coral with a shimmery metallic sheen and copper veining running through it. I think it’s perfect as a blush for light to medium skin tones, for deeper skins it will look good as a highlighter. It reminds me of my well loved MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush but a coral version of it. If you like shimmer in your blush, you will love this as it will give you a sun kissed look. I must say that IloveMAC Mineralize blushes because I find that they really enhance cheekbones with a luminous pearlized shimmer and give me a really healthy glow and sculpted finish.
You also get a whopping 9g for £22 compared to the other mineralize blushes which retail for £20 for 3.5g. Bargain!
I can guarantee this limited edition blush will sell out fast so if you can’t get it online do try your local MAC counter.
OK so, MAC Pinch O’Peach isn’t actually peach -it’s a warm pink with the slightest hint of peach. It’s a lovely shade of pink which I find is very flattering. It’s a finely milled blush, that is smooth upon application and easy to blend.
The colour is quite vibrant in the pan, but it’s a sheertone blush so it can be applied lightly for a natural flush of colour to the cheeks or built up for a more intense colour. It’s just so pretty that I have been wearing it everyday for work.
I searched high and low for the Nars Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Cheek Palette. It was sold out on the Nars and Space NK websites and I was on my 4th phone call to a local Space NK shop when the sale assistant said the magical words ‘ We have one left!‘ HOORAY! I literally jumped up and down on the spot for five minutes in excitement.
Upon collection, I was NOT disappointed. It is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
Guy Bourdin’s spellbinding and cinematic narratives served as the apex of the sexually charged fashion photography of the ’70s—and François Nars’ first inspiration to become a makeup artist. Now, NARS celebrates Bourdin’s legacy with bold, uninhibited colour and high-impact finishes inspired by the audacious, high-fashion and decadent world of Guy Bourdin. This palette comes in a protective box featuring one of Bourdin’s colour striking saturated images. The palette has the traditional Nars insignia with a splash of red lipstick with Guy Bourdin embossed on the front. The packaging screams high fashion! Ooh la la!

4 blushes, 1 bronzer and 1 highlighter palette for £45 in the UK.
Now, I realise that this palette is somewhat bitter-sweet for those of you who already own Laguna , Deep Throat or Orgasm as you are only getting more of the same. However for those of you who haven’t yet purchased any Nars blushers, this would be a great addition to your collection.
This is a versatile compact collection of Nars’ most popular blushes and bronzers. Everything you need to sculpt, highlight and enhance your cheeks. I am WELL CHUFFED with this!
At the time of writing, still available to buy at Sephora.

I am totally in love with MAC’s Warm Soul Mineralize Blush. It is SO pretty on the cheeks and provides a lovely natural warmth to the face. I’ve also found that it can double up as a bronzer and is perfect as an everyday subtle blush.
Colour and Finish
It’s not your typical pink or coral blush – in fact it looks quite average in the pan but don’t be fooled by this as it looks beautiful on. It’s a rose gold bronze colour with warm undertones. It contains tiny flecks of gold which gives a subtle golden shimmer. It can be applied lightly so that it looks sheer or can be built up. It’s not highly pigmented, so it never looks to heavy.
If you aren’t big on blushes but want a hint of colour this may be for you.
Warm Soul – LOVE the name. It’s actually very apt because it gives instant warmth and a subtle golden glow.
